Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement within the community. From the one-by-one reveal of fresh additions before the game's release, to players developing strong views on the full roster of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.
With many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique designs that highlight their personalities, one thought naturally: What's the best way to link this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
The Ram – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. But, a Super Houndoom appears as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being playful, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more similar to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when angered. Remain on the good side of both and benefit from a powerful ally; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Much like a devoted Bull, the steadfast Heracross, both in its standard and Super Form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are still Fighting types, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their position unwaveringly. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many previous official descriptions mention their craving for sweet tree sap and how it uses its horn to collect it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Super Medicham
Look at this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this creature is not the life of every party, offering an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wish to hear. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Twins, it's very simple to envision Super Medicham captivating an whole Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its ability to foresee an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
Cancer is commonly regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for frequently getting wrapped up in their emotions. Per the official info, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its capability to create a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was planning to select Pyroar for the king of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be far too on the nose, The Lion is obviously Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just went viral for being too glamorous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Players were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same energy a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Leo to be staging a performance, even if for aliens.
Virgo – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is clearly reflected across this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s just like the symbol a Virgo posts to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a strategy.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive being, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how others are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – occasionally to a fault – and trying to keep the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. Though, to be frank, it would probably just make them stress more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad backstory: Discarded as a doll, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems precisely like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio adores karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly putting on a show. Being a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful small entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even notes how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can think of.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to foresee disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical energy as a Goat, who tends to consistently believe they’re right. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof element Aquarius is possibly the non-flame sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
