Shock as Renowned South African DJ Shot Dead in Johannesburg.
A renowned South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation struggling with entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old entertainer was confronted by three suspects, one of whom shot at him before escaping on foot.
The motive of the attack remains unclear and no one has been arrested have taken place, according to authorities.
The Fatal Incident
Authorities indicated that Stock was targeted as he was departing from a premises in the vicinity of the city center landmark.
He had been present for hours at the site overseeing the setup of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by squatters, it was reported.
"Authorities believe the man was approached by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before escaping on foot," an official report stated.
CCTV footage reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what looked like a protective services outfit firing shots on Stock before running away.
The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but succumbed to his injuries across the street.
Officials noted that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the assault.
