Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.

What Happened

The striker was dropped from a European match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”

Arne Slot has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Moving Forward

The player stated that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” Jones added.

Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I get that there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.

“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, getting results and starting to win games.”
